consequ{\^e}ncias nos locais onde ocorre, causadas principalmente
pela intensifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o do processo erosivo. Considerando
a import{\^a}ncia ecol{\'o}gica que o Cerrado brasileiro possui
e os poss{\'{\i}}veis efeitos da intensa degrada{\c{c}}{\~a}o
desse bioma, o presente estudo concentra-se em estudar e mensurar
alguns dos impactos causados pela convers{\~a}o do bioma Cerrado
em {\'a}reas agr{\'{\i}}colas na regi{\~a}o de Sapezal MT, que
se trata de um dos polos de produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o agr{\'{\i}}cola
do Pa{\'{\i}}s e passou por um intenso processo de expans{\~a}o
agr{\'{\i}}cola nas {\'u}ltimas d{\'e}cadas. Para esse fim,
foram utilizados ferramentas de Sensoriamento Remoto,
Geotecnologias e o modelo SWAT para a an{\'a}lise da
produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o de sedimentos e escoamento superficial entre
1981 - 2010 na Bacia do Rio Papagaio, que abrange a maior parte da
regi{\~a}o de Sapezal. Foram realizadas duas
simula{\c{c}}{\~o}es, para os per{\'{\i}}odos de 1981 a 1990 e
de 2001 a 2010. Foi constatada alta correla{\c{c}}{\~a}o entre
os valores de escoamento superficial e produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
sedimentos nessa {\'a}rea, que foram maiores nos locais onde
houve expans{\~a}o agr{\'{\i}}cola. Por{\'e}m, as perdas de
solo simuladas encontram-se dentro dos limites de toler{\^a}ncia
estabelecidos pela FAO (1967). Isso indica que as
altera{\c{c}}{\~o}es provocadas pela expans{\~a}o
agr{\'{\i}}cola, entre 1981 e 2010, n{\~a}o causaram grandes
impactos sobre os recursos h{\'{\i}}dricos e solos dessa
regi{\~a}o. ABSTRACT: Agricultural expansion tends to cause
various consequences in places where it occurs, caused mainly by
the intensification of erosion process. Considering the ecological
importance of the Brazilian Cerrado and the possible effects of
intense degradation of this biome, this study focuses on studying
and measuring some of the impacts caused by the conversion of the
Cerrado to agricultural areas in Sapezal - MT region, which is a
center of agricultural production in the Brazil and has undergone
an intense process of agricultural expansion in recent decades.
Remote Sensing, Geotechnologies and the SWAT Model were used to
realize this task, in order to analyze the sediment production and
runoff from 1981 to 2010. Two simulations were performed,
representing the following periods: 1981-1990 and 2001-2010. It
was observed high correlation between the values of runoff and
sediment yield in this area. These values were higher where there
was agricultural expansion. However, the simulated soil losses are
within the tolerances established by the FAO (1967). This
indicates that the changes caused by agricultural expansion
between 1981 and 2010 did not have major impacts on water
resources and soils of this region.",
